Expert Program Design
Many online trainers offer packaged programs, ready for purchase and use. Some offer training apps that you can edit to the exercises, weights, and repetitions to create your own workouts. These can be great products if that is what interests you and meets your needs. My approach is relationship based and is designed to focus on your specific goals, limitations, and challenges. I will meet with you, learn about your training and diet history, understand your aspirations, and partner with you on your journey. The foundation of this process is helping you set goals that will achieve the results you want. Then, we will develop an integrated training program that includes components such as cardio, strength, core, flexibility and balance training. This training design leads to balanced improvements in strength and overall health and wellness.
Our Philosophy and Approach to Training
Many of us deal with old injuries that impact our ability to do the things we enjoy. When we injure ourselves, we can develop movement patterns that are less than optimal, leading to limited range of motion and the loss of strength in the injured part of the body. These limitations often compound over time. This is referred to as the cumulative injury cycle. I conduct movement assessments to make sure your movement patterns are optimal to avoid injuries and elevate the results of your training. Part of your training plan can include exercises that refine your movement patterns and correct imbalances that can lead to cumulative injuries.
If you have goals specific to sports or other activities, I can work with you to implement training that will improve your performance. For example, if you enjoy golf, I can offer training that will strengthen key muscles, improve how muscles work together to create a smooth swing, and develop balance and proprioception.
